Office Gossip, Shop Gossip, Telephone Gossip!

Gossip, Gossip, Gossip, everywhere...
I'm quite sure you have been a subject of gossip... I have, even celebrities. You know how hurtful it is, right?

Gossip has no respect for justice, it breaks hearts and ruins lives. It is cunning, malicious and gathers strength with age.
The more it is quoted, the more it is believed. It flourishes at every level of society.
Its victims are helpless, they cannot protect themselves against it because it has no face. To track it down is impossible.
The harder you try, the more elusive it becomes.

It is nobody's friend, once it tarnishes a reputation, it is never the same. It topples governments and wrecks marriages...even relationships.
It ruins careers and causes sleepless nights, heartaches and indigestion. It spawns suspicion and generates grief.
It makes innocent people cry in their pillows, .even its name hisses....it is called GOSSIP!

Office gossip, Shop gossip, Party gossip, Telephone gossip, it makes headlines and headaches.

REMEMBER, before you repeat a story, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it fair? Is it necessary?? If not, do not repeat it. Read Ray Ortlund's view on gossip.

And I ask: What would life has been like without gossip? A train without a rail? Please leave your comments below.
I wish us all fruitful, rewarding, and gossip-free week ahead!

Off to church!

  1. Interesting topic...gossip really hurts. We all engage in gossip consciously and unconsciously, it is generally perceived as a normal way of life.

    1. But when it is targeted at ridiculing and spoiling someone's reputation; it's really really bad.

    1. Awww! How sweet can u be? (let me accept the compliments first) Thanks for noticing my style of writing.

      Now to the topic...
I really wish this tip 'moderation' could be applied. Just like someone commented on my fb post on this same topic that gossip is a tiny weapon of mass destruction, and I totally agree with him on that.

  4. Great post! People would achieve more if there was no gossip. As Great minds discuss ideas and little minds discuss people. People would be more productive without it.

  5. Great one again, Gossip, very wrong way to discuss. Its a question of self respect to me. I usually say, I'm top big to gossip or be the one to talk ill about another. Its not the Jesus handled any matter even with his disciples and I'm born again, so I'm too valuable for that. Some people do it to feel better, for that Inferiority complex that they have to be justified.
We should live our lives daily as the Kings dat God has called us. Do Kings Gossip? NO NO NO
Yes, your writing skills have been noticed and as I have read through I see you are a straight to the point and precise writer. Its nice Catherine...God will guide you more and grant you insight. Weldone
